DLT Tapes

Digital Linear Tape (DLT)  is a magnetic tape data storage technology developed by Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) from 1984 onwards. In 1994 the technology was purchased by Quantum Corporation, who currently manufactures drives and licenses the technology and trademark. A variant with higher capacity is called Super DLT (SDLT). The lower cost "value line" was initially manufactured by Benchmark Storage Innovations under license from Quantum. Quantum acquired Benchmark in 2002.

Quantum THXKC-02 DLT Tape

Quantum's THXKC-02 is a Digital linear Tape 3(DLT-3) format tape cartridge. It has a tape length of 366 meters which enables a native data storage capacity of 10GB that can be expanded up to 20GB when compressed. It has a data transfer rate of up to 1.5MB/s and has an archival life exceeding 20 years. The Quantum THXKC-02 tape cartridge has a rugged design comprising of a shock-resistant cartridge combined with a durable plastic container that protects against corrosion.
